The apex roof design gives you the most usable interior space of any shed style. The central ridge runs the full length of the shed, creating good standing headroom throughout — ideal if you’re using your shed as a workspace as well as for storage. The traditional V-shaped roof also sheds rainwater efficiently, making it the practical choice for the UK climate.

In most cases, no. Garden sheds typically fall under permitted development rights as long as they meet certain size criteria. However, rules vary, particularly on listed buildings or in conservation areas. We recommend checking with your local authority if you’re unsure.
We build apex sheds to any size. Common sizes range from 6ft x 4ft up to 12ft x 8ft and beyond, but if you need something unusual, just ask — bespoke sizing is our speciality.
With proper treatment and maintenance, a quality timber apex shed should last 15–25 years or more. We recommend applying a wood preservative every 2–3 years to maximise the lifespan.
